CPO
Chief Perfectionism Officer
Born and raised in Germany, my job brought me to the Seattle area in 2011, and I have been calling the Pacific Northwest my home since.
My day job has me sitting in front of a laptop most of my day. My wonderful wife and two daughters keep me plenty busy, but every now and then I need to escape a bit from the crazy worker bee, husband and daddy life.
I have been a passionate photographer for almost 25 years and I have found a creative outlet in photography. I love stills, macros, product photography and landscape photography most. Especially for the latter the PNW is a fantastic place to be. Having a stunningly beautiful wife and incredibly cute little girls around as somewhat reluctant models has certainly encouraged me to branch out into portrait photography as well.
Over the last 5 years or so I have found another passion: woodworking and digital woodworking. Born out of the necessity to fit an increasing amount of things into a relatively small space I started exploring building simple furniture and organizers. Over the years and with increasing skill I have branched out a bit and am starting to get a bit fancier. Additionally I branched out further a few years ago and added a glowforge to my arsenal of tools. The laser cutter allows me to create things that were previously far out of reach. I love the ability to create functional things that fit our needs exactly, but just as easily create things that – with some added TLC – are just incredibly beautiful to look at. My personal favorites are things that combine function and beauty. Learn more about what I do at LinnDesignWorks below.
Create
Sometimes I just want to build something that fulfills a very specific purpose, like a bench with storage that fits exactly into the little window bay in our living room. But more often than not, I find myself called to create something useful AND beautiful, like this little play kitchen that I built for my daughters. Having access to a laser cutter has opened up a whole world of opportunities for regular woodworking, because I can create perfect templates where needed. But there is SO MUCH MORE that the combination of traditional woodworking and a laser cutter allows me to do.

Capture
Whether it is a product you sell, a gift you want to give, a scene you want to capture, a house you want to put on the market… A quick snapshot with your phone is not likely to impress.
